James Van Der Beek as Dawson Leery

When James was 13, he was not permitted to play in the football team due to an injury. So he decided to try out for a school play. This then led to him landing his first role; Danny Zuko in his school's production of "Grease."

His first on-screen performance came in the 1995 feature film "Angus." He has also completed an independent feature film named "Harvest."

James has received a scholarship from Drew University in Madison, N.J., where he majors in English. In his free time he enjoys writing and playing all kinds of sports.
